My Beginner Raglan KAL

Knitting a sweater seems like a daunting task. Thankfully the My Beginner Raglan by Knitatude is such an amazing pattern that makes knitting a sweater quick and easy. I only started knitting last summer and was able to tackle this beauty in April. I want to share the experience of making this great pattern with you guys so sweaters don't have to feel so intimidating. And we live in Central NY and the cold is coming. You'll need this sweater.

The plan for this knitalong or KAL is that we will meet on Saturdays in September and October to take this pattern step by step. The pattern takes about 15 hours to knit and we will be knitting together for 8 of those hours. So there will be some knitting in between meetings, but nothing too time consuming.

What do you need to do?

1. Buy the pattern My Beginner Raglan by Knitatude on Ravelry or Etsy.

2. Pick up yarn and materials at Love & Stitches

Supplies are 20% off when you show your pattern. We have Pacific Bulky in store, but not all the colors. So we will be taking orders for specific colors in the Pacific Bulky up until August 28th to ensure the yarn arrives with plenty of time for the knit a long.

Materials Needed:

  • 4 (XS, S, M) or 5 (L, XL) skeins of Cascade Pacific Bulky

  • Size US 13/9 mm circular knitting needles, 16" long

  • Size US 15/10 mm circular knitting needles, 24" long

  • 4 stitch markers (1 different to mark beginning of row)

  • Yarn Needle

  • Scissors

We currently have in store...

red (43), black (62), charcoal (62), white (02), green (33), fawn (30), cream (116), teal (103), purple (107), and pink (114)

Numbers in parentheses are the color codes.

We can order any of these colors. The only one that has been tricky to order more of is Charcoal. It's a beautiful gray I can't blame everyone else for loving it too.

3. Join us on Saturday mornings or follow along in the facebook group.

We will be meeting in the shop from 10am - 12pm on 9/22, 9/29, 10/6, and 10/13. If you have any questions before we start or in between meetings, post in the facebook group.
